Privacy policy

Last updated August 7, 2026.

DigitalFix is based in Kitchener, Ontario, and complies with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This page describes what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

1. What we collect

We collect only what you give us directly. When you submit the contact form, that is your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, the service you selected, and the contents of your message. We also record the IP address the submission came from, which is used solely for spam prevention and rate limiting.

When you bring us a device for repair, we necessarily have access to the data on it. We do not copy, retain, or examine your files beyond what the repair requires.

2. Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote
  • To schedule and carry out the work you have asked for
  • To invoice you and keep the records Canadian tax law requires
  • To prevent automated abuse of our contact form

We do not use your information for anything else, and we do not send marketing email unless you have specifically asked us to.

3. What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any purpose. We do not share it with third parties except where it is genuinely necessary to deliver the service you asked for, or where Canadian law requires it.

4. How long we keep it

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any work that follows. Invoices and job records are kept for the period required by the Canada Revenue Agency for business records. You can ask us to delete anything not subject to that requirement at any time.

5. Data on devices we repair

Where a repair requires it, we back up your data before we begin, and that backup is deleted once the job is complete and you have confirmed everything is in order. Technicians access your files only where the repair genuinely requires it — for example, verifying a data recovery succeeded.

If you would prefer we did not access a particular folder or drive, say so when you bring the device in and we will work around it wherever technically possible.

6. Cookies and analytics

This website uses the following third-party services, which set cookies or collect usage data:

  • Google Analytics — aggregate traffic statistics (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). IP anonymisation is enabled.

You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site works normally without them.

7. Spam protection

Our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that submissions come from a real person rather than an automated script. Turnstile is designed to be privacy-preserving and does not track users across websites. Cloudflare processes limited technical data to make that determination — see Cloudflare's own privacy policy for detail.

8. Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and to request its deletion where we are not legally required to keep it. You can also withdraw consent for us to use it at any time.

To exercise any of these, email support@digitalfix.ca. We will respond within 30 days as the Act requires.

9. Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Contact form submissions are transmitted encrypted and delivered to a mailbox we control. We keep the number of people with access to customer information to those who need it to do the work.

No system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to claim otherwise. If we ever became aware of a breach affecting your information, we would tell you and report it as PIPEDA requires.
