What is included

Every plan, not just the expensive one

Data Location In Writing

We tell you exactly which data centre your site sits in, in writing, before you sign up — and if Canadian residency matters for your records, we will say plainly whether we can meet it.

Daily Backups

Automatic daily backups retained 30 days with one-click restore. Tested restores, not just backups that exist.

Free SSL, Always

HTTPS on every site, renewed automatically. We do not charge for a certificate that costs nothing.

Malware Scanning

Continuous scanning with alerts, plus cleanup included rather than billed as an emergency.

Monitored Around The Clock

Uptime monitoring on every site. If something goes down we usually know before you do, and you hear it from us.

A Human to Call

Support from the same people who built your site — not a ticket queue with a 48-hour SLA.

Why it matters

Where your data physically sits is a legal question

If your website stores customer information — names, emails, order history, anything a contact form collects — the country those records sit in determines which privacy law governs them. Held in Canada, that is PIPEDA. Held in the United States, your customers' data is subject to US law regardless of where your business operates.

This matters more than most hosting pages suggest, and it is routinely obscured. A great many hosts advertise "Canadian hosting" while the servers are in Virginia or Oregon — the Canadian part is a billing address.

So here is our commitment rather than a slogan: we tell you the specific data centre your site will sit in, in writing, before you sign up. If Canadian residency is a requirement for your business, say so when you ask and we will confirm plainly whether we can meet it for your plan — rather than implying it and leaving you to assume. Ask every other host you are considering for the same thing in writing. The ones that will not put it in writing have told you something useful.

The renewal-price trick

The standard shared-hosting model is an introductory rate that roughly triples on renewal. $3.95/month becomes $12.95/month in year two, and the discount only ever applies to a long prepaid term. It is not a scam exactly, but it means the advertised price is not the price.

Our pricing is the same in month one and month thirty. It is higher than the headline number on a discount host, and it is lower than what most of them charge on renewal.

The other thing to check: whether SSL costs extra. A TLS certificate is free — Let's Encrypt has issued them at no cost since 2016. A host still charging $60/year for HTTPS is charging you for something that costs them nothing, and that tells you what the rest of the relationship will look like.

Backups you have actually tested

Backups run daily and are retained for thirty days, with one-click restore. We also perform periodic test restores, which is the part most providers skip. A backup nobody has ever restored is not a backup, it is a hope — and the moment you find out is the worst possible moment.

Malware cleanup is included on every plan rather than billed as an emergency call-out. If a site gets compromised we restore from a clean backup, patch whatever was exploited, and tell you plainly what the entry point was. An out-of-date plugin is the answer roughly nine times in ten.

Migration is free, and it is not disruptive

We copy the site, stand it up on a staging URL, and let you confirm it works before anything changes. Only then do we switch DNS. Done that way there is no expected downtime, and if something is wrong you find out on a URL nobody else is looking at.

There is no charge for this and no contract afterwards. Hosting is month-to-month, and if you leave we hand over a full export rather than making it difficult.

FAQ

Hosting questions

We tell you the specific data centre in writing before you sign up, because it is a fair question and a lot of hosts are evasive about it. It matters: data held in Canada falls under PIPEDA, while data in the United States is subject to US law regardless of where your business operates. If Canadian residency is a requirement for you, say so up front and we will confirm whether we can meet it for your plan rather than assuring you vaguely.

Yes. We move the site, test it on a staging URL, and only switch DNS once you have confirmed it works. There is no charge and no expected downtime.

Yes. Backups run daily and are retained for 30 days, and we periodically perform test restores. A backup nobody has ever restored is not a backup — it is a hope.

No. Hosting is month-to-month and you can leave whenever you like. If you do, we hand over a full export of your site and data rather than making it difficult.

Malware cleanup is included on all plans. We restore from a clean backup, patch whatever was exploited, and tell you what the entry point was. We do not bill site cleanup as an emergency call-out.
